Moving an HP printer around necessitated a switch from a USB connection to an Ethernet connection. No problem, there’s an HP external Ethernet adapter kicking around…

When your wife persuades you to clear “out all that old junk” you know she’s right. You also know, just as surely that somewhere in that pile if cables, manuals, and peripherals - sorry, junk - there’s at least one thing you’re going to need. At least you hope it’s just the one thing.

Luckily, it turns out that you can substitute a £29 RaspberryPi running CUPS for a £170 Ethernet adaptor (Assuming you can even get the adaptor anymore.) The list of useful office chores the little rascals can do is growing.
