Sometime this evening, hopefully, I'll be successfully installing bootcamp and Windows 7 on my MacBook Air. I originally bought it with a 256Gb SSD specifically for the purpose of running a dual (or possible triple boot) laptop, but up until now have managed to get away without it.

Just a short piece on using the web viewer in FileMaker one Windows.

The Web viewer uses the installed Microsoft browser, so on Win7 that's IE 8, probably. Code developed for a modern browser, say on a Mac with Safari is probably more forgiving.

CleanUp Via Triggers

It may not always be practicable to write the cleanup code into a field's auto-calc definition. In which case, a trigger based cleanup, per field, may be the answer.

Say you have a layout with 40+ fields on it, and you need to cleanup the data entry for it; people are cutting and pasting into the fields, and making a mess. The trick is to attach a script to the fields in one go, probably on the OnObjectValidate trigger. Here's the script to call:
